Garlic for Sale!

Garlic for sale!

We are please to offer you garlic products from our friends at the Great Lakes Garlic Farm this week.  Their garlic harvest ended recently so stock up on whole bulbs while they last.  Properly cared for, whole garlic will last many months.  (Keep them in a ventilated bag around 50 degrees, perhaps in your garage.). We also have garlic powder and garlic salt.  A little garlic tastes great with any of our meat, poultry and eggs.  Learn more at www.greatlakesgarlicfarm.com.

Time to restock the meat in your family’s freezer.  Your third box has been lovingly packed and ready for your pick up.  Cooler temperatures are here so break out the slow cooker for roasts, or give spatchcocking a try with your chicken.

Thanksgiving turkey

We have a limited number of turkeys available this year.  We will begin selling them at the members’ event on October 22 (3-5pm, meet the turkeys, buy bulk Honeycrisp apples).  Any left will be offered to members and their friends.  We will process the birds on November 16 and 17.  We plan to keep most of them unfrozen for pick-up between November 18-23.  The price is $4/pound for 15-23 pound turkeys.  Many of them will be cut in half, which is our preferred way to roast our Thanksgiving centerpiece.  A half turkey cooks more evenly and you don’t have leftovers for the next two weeks.
